A Mask of Gaiety

She killed herself because it was all too much to handle.

Perfection wasn't as easy to attain as she had originally thought it would be.

Expectation and Pressure were the names of her murderers.

Her spirit died far before her body ever did.

We would have never noticed.

How could we?

She was always smiling;

to hide the horrors of inner war.

She wore a mask of gaiety.

now she wears a mask of decaying flesh;

as she lies six feet under.
