A Childhood Friendship

Side by side we sit,

Inseparable,

Holding each other’s hands as we toddle into class.

We were the perfect fit,

Unforgettable,

I’d give up my life for hers, if given the chance.

Her smile could brighten the whole world,

She’s as graceful as an angel,

Her mere existence makes my life worthwhile,

Her clever wit made her gainful.

I love spending my days by her side,

When we’re together we forget about time,

We shared everything, our stories, our music,

When I’m with her, there’s nothing to hide.

She is my muse,

She was the note in every song,

She was the one person I thought I could never loose,

Oh boy! Was I wrong.

She and I were the perfect balance,

We had each other’s back,

We were in perfect alliance,

With her I’m never sad.

There is never a day that goes by,

Where I don’t think about the past,

I will never deny,

That I’ve missed what we had.
